Monday, October 6

  • Krause Memorial Library Events:

    • Babytime: 10am-10:30am. Join us for songs, rhymes, stories and playtime while developing listening and language skills. Caregivers will have time to connect with each other while their babies learn and socialize. Designed for babies ages birth to 18 months with their caregivers, but older siblings are welcome.

    • Rhyme Time Music & Movement: 11:30am-12:30pm. Get your wiggles out with rhymes, songs and musical activities. Move and groove together while strengthening motor, listening and early literacy skills. Designed for children ages 0-5 with their caregivers, but all ages are welcome.

  • National Orange Wine Day Celebration: 11am-8pm at St. Julian Winery. Rockford, MI. Join us at our Rockford tasting room to celebrate National Orange Wine Day! Come indulge in the aromas and flavors of rose petal, mango, nectarine, and white peach of this iconic wine and make your day unforgettable.

Tuesday, October 7

  • Krause Memorial Library Events:

    • Toddler Time: 10-10:30am. Enjoy stories, music and rhymes while building early literacy and social skills. Designed for children ages 1-3 with their caregivers, but all ages are welcome.

  • Hit the Trail Tuesday Women’s Run Club: 7:15pm. Join their private Facebook group for location information. No registration required.

  • Trail Tuesdays at Third Nature Brewing Company: 5-8pm. Join us for Trail Tuesdays! Every Tuesday stop by between 5 and close and run, walk, bike on the White Pine Trail and receive $2 off your first post workout pint. We’ll raise a glass to that! Be sure to check-in at the host stand. Dogs are welcome in our Biergarten if you would like for your four legged friend to join. Grab the family and friends for some exercise followed by a Biergarten meal and a pint.

  • Jerry the Jet Visits Robinette’s: 9-10:30am. Jerry the Jet will be making a special appearance at Robinette’s Apple Haus. Jerry the Jet will be joined by Robinette’s mascot, Mac, as they greet visitors and enjoy the beautiful orchards.

  • Autumn Nights at Meijer Gardens: 6-8pm. Join us every Tuesday evening in October for Autumn Nights at Meijer Gardens! Wander the new illuminated Pumpkin Walk in the Gwen Frostic Woodland Shade Garden, where lantern pumpkins and gourds glow among the trees. Play lawn games on the DeVos Van Andel Piazza, take in live music at Michigan’s Farm Garden, and relax with unplugged performances in the Amphitheater. Savor seasonal snacks, hot cider, and drinks while enjoying the vibrant colors of fall and extended evening hours. Members receive free admission!

Wednesday, October 8

  • Krause Memorial Library Events:

    • Rock the Uke: 5:30-7:30pm. Play ukulele at the library! Beginners and newcomers welcome. Learn with ukulele enthusiasts followed by a group strum along.

  • October Fiction Book Club: 6:30-7:30pm at Epilouge Books. Downtown Rockford. Join for our discussion of Shirley Jackson's "The Haunting of Hill House." All are welcome! If the weather is nice, we are hoping to sit on the deck behind the store - bring a portable chair if you are able. If the weather doesn't cooperate, we will meet inside the store. And bring a drink if you would like!

  • Project Night Lights: 8:30pm at Helen Devos Children’s Hospital. You're invited to join us for a magical and uplifting evening. Kids flash flashlights out of their windows at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, and local law enforcement and community members respond by flashing their lights back. It bring smiles to the faces of patients, who feel the love with those flashing lights!

    • Important Details:
      Date: 2nd Wednesday of every month
      Start Time: 8:30 p.m. (Rain/Snow/Shine) A firetruck will sound their alarm to signal the start and end
      Location: Find a spot on the sidewalk of Michigan Street, or Bostwick ave. Parking: Park in public lots or side streets

Thursday, October 9

  • Krause Memorial Library Events:

    • Awesome Adults: 3:30-4:30pm. A time for fun activities with friends. This program is designed for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their care partners.

    • Nibwaakaawin: Anishinaabe Stories and Teachings: 6:30-7:30pm. Learn about the history and culture of West Michigan's indigenous population from Katrina Furman, Anishinaabe Curator at the Grand Rapids Public Museum, as the Anishinaabek exhibit at the museum undergoes exciting changes.

  • Paint on Pumpkins: 6-7:30pm at St. Julian Winery. Rockford, MI. Get ready for a spooky, fun-filled time at our Rockford tasting room! Join us to craft your own adorable (or spooky!) pumpkin masterpieces this fall and Halloween season. We’ve got all the supplies and pumpkins you’ll need—just bring your creativity! Friday, October 10

  • Hometown Heroes: 1-6pm at Ed Dunneback & Girls Fruit Farm. Grand Rapids, MI. Free Admission for Hometown Heroes! (Military, Veterans, First Responders, Nurses, Teachers & more).

  • Glo Nights in the Corn Maze: 7-10pm at Deep Roots Produce. Alto, MI. Every Friday and Saturday night from September 12th-October 25th, we'll have GLOW NIGHT in the maze! Grab your friends and family & make your way through our maze in the dark! Tickets come with 5 glow sticks, but you're welcome to bring your own. Each checkpoint throughout the maze will have a light to help your group navigate. Tickets come with a paper map, and you may utilize our GPS app on your phone as well (scan at entrance.) You must be 16 or older to enter alone. Maze goers 15 & under must be accompanied by an adult.

    • Fall: The Other Planting Season: 1-2pm. Learn which plants, bushes and bulbs are best to plant in the fall, how late you can plant and how to protect them. Discover how to put your garden to bed for the season. 

  • Saturday Farmers Market: 8-2pm at Fulton Street Market. 1145 Fulton St E, Grand Rapids, MI.

  • Rockford Farmers Market: The Rockford Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 8am-1pm May 3, 2025 through October 25, 2025. The Farmers Market is located in the newest city lot behind the Post Office with an entrance off Main St across the street from Rocky's.

  • Pumpkins with Police: 11am at Graff Rockford. Everyone put on their best and most festive costume and join the Graff CDJR staff and Kent County Sheriff's Office for a morning of FREE spooky fun! Decorate some pumpkins, drink cider & donuts, go trunk or treating with local Jeep groups or enter the coloring contest to win fun prize!
